WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) – A Tioga County youth is again among the state’s best archers.

On March 13, Waverly’s Easton Beach placed 1st overall in the elementary school male division of the National Archery in the Schools Program state tournament.

It’s the second consecutive year Beach took the top honors. Over 500 public school students of all ages competed at the State Fairgrounds in Syracuse earlier this month. There were male and female divisions for elementary school, middle school, and high school.

Beach and other top qualifiers will head to Louisville in May to represent New York at the Eastern National Tournament.
