ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A popular product sold at Walmart is safe to consume.

On April 6, the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) retracted the public health alert for Great Value Dino-Shaped Chicken Nuggets.

The USDA announced on April 1 that 29-oz. bags of the product could contain elevated levels of lead. Follow-up testing of the original lot and additional lots found no elevated levels of lead.

FSIS officials say the initial result was a false positive caused by sporadic lead contamination at the testing lab during analysis.
