ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Cornell football team had a disappointing performance in front of a large crowd.

On Saturday, the Big Red fell to Colgate 41-21. Over 12,000 people attended the game at Schoellkopf Field as part of Homecoming Weekend.

Cornell’s gameplan quickly unraveled, as junior quarterback Devin Page threw two interceptions in his first two pass attempts. Page was benched and replaced by junior Garrett “Bito” Bass-Sulpizio, who also threw two interceptions over the course of the game.

Despite the loss, Cornell’s coaching staff can reflect on a positive third quarter. The Big Red outscored Colgate 15-0 that period.

Cornell next heads to Harvard for an Ivy League matchup on Friday at 7 p.m. The visitors enter the game with an overall record of 0-3, while Harvard is 3-0.
