TRUMANSBURG, NY (607NewsNow) — Trumansburg is still a pro-housing community.

The village received the re-certification for 2025 that keeps funding doors like the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and New York Forward program open. According to a statement on Aug. 20, “This certification reflects our local government’s ongoing commitment to tackle housing affordability challenges facing residents. Village officials recognize that many community members – especially young families trying to buy their first home and seniors looking for accessible housing options – are feeling the pinch of rising costs. The Pro-Housing certification demonstrates Trumansburg’s dedication to creating more opportunities right here at home.”

The state budget also includes $100 million in improvements to infrastructure, which the village says makes new housing development possible.

“This certification proves Trumansburg is committed to being a local government that works for everyone – from new families just starting out to longtime neighbors who want to stay put,” the village said.
