UPDATE 8/28 – The couple has been identified, according to State Police. The pair reported to the Troop C Barracks in Homer and returned the money.

CORTLANDVILLE, NY (607NewsNow) — State Police are looking for a couple.

Troopers say a man withdrew $100 Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Cortlandville Walmart but left before taking the cash from the dispenser. When he went back inside minutes later, troopers say the cash was already gone. An investigation revealed a couple took the money and used it to shop, keeping the change.
