Troopers: 17-year-old fled from officers in Dryden

DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) — Multiple misdemeanors were filed against a 17-year-old in Dryden. 

State Police responded to a disturbance around 11 p.m. Saturday at the Ellis Hollow Community Center when the teen sped away. 

“A Trooper activated his emergency lights and attempted to stop the vehicle.  The Trooper observed the 17-year-old driver committing numerous vehicle and traffic infractions and endangering the motoring public, while failing to pull over and stop for the Trooper,” according to a state police news release.

“The driver ultimately stopped the vehicle in a driveway on Snyder Hill Road where a Trooper engaged with the driver who continued to fail to comply with lawful orders and resisted arrest.  He was taken into custody by the Trooper and a Sheriff’s Deputy. ”

The suspect, whose name is being withheld, was ticketed for reckless driving, resisting arrest, and unlawful fleeing of a motor vehicle.
