Tompkins County veterans services director receives award

ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) — A Tompkins County civil servant is receiving recognition.

Veterans Services Director J.R. Clairborne was recently presented with a State Senate Commendation Award. He was appointed as director in June 2019.

“I had the privilege of presenting J.R. Clairborne with a New York State Senate Commendation Award while attending the Tompkins Veterans Resource Fair,” Senator Lea Webb wrote on X. “J.R.’s dedication to our community and his work supporting our veterans exemplifies the spirit of service that inspires us all.”

Earlier this month, Clairborne honored veterans as part of Veterans Week.
