ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Republican election commissioner in Tompkins County will serve another term.

On Oct. 21, the Tompkins County Legislature reappointed Alanna Congdon as commissioner. She’ll continue serving through 2027.

Legislator Mike Sigler said Congdon is helpful on either side of the political aisle.

“It doesn’t matter what party you are,” he said. “If you go and talk to Alanna, she will tell you how to run for office, what needs to be done, what the deadlines are, and what some of the limitations are.”

Sigler added Congdon has done a “tremendous” job as commissioner.
