ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Lawmakers in Tompkins County are impressed by a seven-figure grant.

On Sept. 2, the Tompkins County Legislature accepted $1.35 million from the New York State Department of Transportation. The money will help install a geothermal heating and cooling system at the Ithaca Tompkins International Airport.

Legislator Randy Brown said the grant is “quite a bit of money.” Legislator Mike Lane was also impressed; he called the grant a “big deal.”
