Tompkins County dispatcher named Telecommunicator of the Year by Atlantic region peers

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A Tompkins County emergency worker is receiving recognition.

Department of Emergency Response (DoER) dispatcher Patrick Harris has been named Telecommunicator of the Year by the Atlantic Chapter of the Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (APCO).

The Atlantic Chapter of APCO covers all 6 states in New England, as well as New York and New Jersey.

According to DoER, Harris is Tompkins County’s third recipient of the award in the last four years. He’ll be honored at Atlantic APCO’s fall conference this November in Connecticut.
