ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tompkins County will encourage green transportation to the Center of Government.

Quay Thompson, a principal architect at HOLT Architects, said there are “about eight” bicycle lockers that remain part of the $50 million project. Thompson also said showers and changing rooms will be installed in the building to promote employee biking.

Outside of the building, Thompson said 10 parking spots are expected to have electric vehicle chargers for county fleet vehicles.

Construction on the Center of Government, which will be located on North Tioga Street in Ithaca, has not yet begun.
