CORTLAND, NY (607NewsNow) – Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) is entering the next phase of its Emergency Department (ED) renovation project.

Beginning today, the entrances at the ED and Cardiology will be temporarily relocated while crews install new doors at the ED entrance.

It’s part of a larger, $7.2 million renovation project, which began in September 2024. Patients seeking emergency care can enter through the ambulance bay through 5 p.m. this Friday, June 5. Signage is posted to direct visitors to the proper location.

Cardiology patients are asked to use the north side main entrance through next Friday, June 12. Arriving patients will check in and be escorted to their appointments.

Officials say Guthrie will attempt to contact cardiology patients with appointments scheduled for the affected days to inform them of the change.
