ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — TCAT is rolling out a new pilot program.

Monday marked the start of eRide Ithaca, a fleet of four electric cars and four electric vans. Assistant GM Tiffany Walker tells us it’s easy to book a ride.

If you don’t have a smartphone, Walker says another option is calling 211 to schedule a ride. As for the coverage area, Walker tells 607 News Now rides must begin and end in the same places.

Drivers can take you around parts of the city.

Walker says the program’s intent is to get people to shopping centers and medical appointments.
