(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Peach (Top L) and Annabelle (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Peach is about a year old and was surrendered by her owner in July 2025 when they had to move. She’s good with other cats and has a friendly disposition. Peach has a big heart and is very sweet, loving to give and receive affection from her people. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Annabelle is approximately 3-4 years old and found herself at the shelter in April 2024 after being surrendered. With a little bit of sass and a lot of heart, she enjoys attention from people but can become a little standoffish when other cats approach her. In a busy environment shelter, it’s a big adjustment for a cat who came from having their own home. With time and a calm environment, Annabelle will flourish. She has also been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Bella (Bottom L) and Echo (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Bella is about 5 months old and is a sweet and friendly dog. She has a playful and goofy side that allows her to be both and affectionate and entertaining companion.

Echo is about 3 years old and is a sweet, curious boy who likes to explore and play. Having lived outdoors his entire life, Echo is eager for a cozy home where he can explore and play in a safe environment. He loves interacting with people and would make a delightful companion for anyone looking to add joy and activity to their life.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
