(607NewsNow) — Our pets of the week start with Bianca (Top L) and Elvis Purrsley (Top R) from CNY Snap.

Bianca was only 2 months old when she came to the shelter in October 2024 with her mom as a stray. She’s only known life on the streets and in a very busy shelter and can still be easily frightened. A patient and understanding home ready to give her some love would be ideal for her to let her guard down. She has been spayed, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Elvis Purrsley is a quiet and calm boy who came to the shelter in May 2025 after being found as a stray on a busy road in Jamesville. He loves to perch on the printer to hangout and observe what’s going on in the shelter. He has been neutered, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, and is microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

Next, we have Cici (Bottom L) and Luis (Bottom R) from the Cortland County SPCA. Cici is 2 years old and is a small cat, weighing only about 5 pounds. She is a bit shy when it comes to affection, but loves to window-watch and explore. She can get intimidated by other cats, but seems to become comfortable once she knows she can trust someone.

Luis is 4 years old and friendly, playful, and loves to spend time with his favorite people. He is a smart dog and likes to play games that involve finding his favorite treats or toys. As much as he loves people, he is not fond of other dogs, so a home where he can be the star of the show would be a good fit for him.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
