OWEGO, NY (607NewsNow) – Owego is getting funding to support seasonal outdoor recreation.

The village has received $271,771 for Marvin Park pool upgrades.

The money, which comes from the NY SWIMS Initiative, will be used to replace the pool deck, install new fencing, and upgrade the pump house. Officials say it will improve safety and extend the life of Owego’s municipal pool.

Other area pools and swimming spots also received funding in this grant cycle.
