One hospitalized after 2-vehicle collision in Genoa

GENOA, NY (607NewsNow) – One person is hospitalized after an accident in Genoa.

On January 12, Genoa firefighters were called to a collision involving a car and a tractor-trailer on Route 90 around noon.

It happened between East Venice and McAllister Roads. Arriving units requested mutual aid after confirming the driver of the car was trapped. Hazards were secured on both vehicles.

It took nearly 30 minutes to extricate the unidentified victim from the wreck. They were airlifted to a hospital, and their condition is unknown.

The truck driver refused medical treatment at the scene.

The Genoa Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by Southern Cayuga Instant Aid, the King Ferry Fire Department, Locke Fire & Rescue, LifeNet of New York, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and Morey’s Towing.
