NYSP: Woman stole purse in Ithaca, withdrew over $13k

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – State Police are asking for help with a grand larceny investigation.

Troopers say a woman broke into a car in an Ithaca parking lot on March 19 and stole a purse.

The vehicle was locked, but the purse was visible inside. The purse contained the victim’s ID, checkbook, and credit cards.

On March 20, the suspect withdrew $13,500 from the victim’s bank account in Cayuga County. The withdrawals happened at Cayuga Lake National Bank branches in Aurora and Union Springs.

Anyone who recognizes the woman or has information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact the NYSP at (585) 398-4100.
