NYSP: Over 70 animals perish in Aurelius barn fire

AURELIUS, NY (607NewsNow) – Over 70 animals are dead after a fire in Cayuga County.

On April 13, State Police and multiple fire departments arrived at a home on Route 326 in Aurelius around 9 p.m. to find a barn completely engulfed in flames.

Troopers say about 40 ducks, 30 turkeys, several chickens, and a pig were unable to escape. No injuries to human occupants or first responders were reported.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
