Newfield man charged with violating NYS Sex Offender Act

CAROLINE, NY (607NewsNow) – Authorities have caught up with a wanted man in Tompkins County.

On September 1, David Beckman, of Newfield, was arrested around 9:15 p.m. following a traffic stop in the Town of Caroline.

According to the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, the 40-year-old had an outstanding warrant for failure to verify his address, failure to verify employment, and failure to register a change of address, all felonies under the New York State Sex Offender Act.

He was additionally charged with misdemeanor drug possession after deputies say they found methamphetamine in his possession. Beckman is being held in Tompkins County Jail without bail.
