WAVERLY, NY (607NewsNow) – A multi-year interstate project in the Southern Tier has been pushed.

Originally set to begin in late spring 2026, bridge and ramp work on I-86 in Waverly and Sayre will now start in mid-August.

According to The Morning Times, it’s unclear which ramps will be closed and when, and an updated project letter hasn’t been sent out. However, the DOT says the overall project scope remains unchanged.

The work is now expected to be completed in November 2028.
