Ithaca Police chief reacts to Common Council resolution on tactical grant applications

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tactical grant applications from the Ithaca Police Department are getting scrutiny. 

The Common Council approved a resolution Wednesday, July 8 that gives them a say in applications for tactical gear. Chief Tom Kelly tells 607 News Now he understands why it’s important. 

The resolution, which was introduced by Alderperson Hannah Shvets, passed 9-1.
