Ithaca man tried setting apartment building on fire, police say

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca Police say a man tried setting a building on fire. 

Roy Roberts is accused of trying to start a fire inside the stairwell of an apartment building in the 100 block of East Green Street shortly before 1:30 Saturday morning. “Roberts then proceeded to the fire alarm pull station lever where he was stopped in the process of setting off the multiple dwelling fire alarm,” police said.

IPD is charging the 46-year-old Roberts with felony arson.
