Ithaca E-bike rider hospitalized after brake failure

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – An Ithaca resident is in the hospital after an accident.

On May 12, the Ithaca Police Department (IPD) and other first responders were called to South Aurora Street just before 10:30 a.m. for a report of a crash with an injury.

According to IPD, a bicyclist was traveling north on South Aurora when their brakes malfunctioned. The unnamed rider was able to maneuver the bike onto an apartment complex property at 222 South Aurora Street, where they crashed into a concrete wall.

The individual was transported to a regional trauma center for treatment.
