Ithaca Concert Band has ‘promising’ future, conductor says

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The Ithaca Concert Band is looking ahead.

The group is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Conductor Art Carichner said the future is bright.

“I think it looks very promising,” he said. “We have amazing membership.”

Carichner said the band has about 80 members. He calls them “very dedicated” people.

“We have a lot of younger people in the ensemble,” Carichner said. “We’re very fortunate and we’re very pleased.”
