ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — An Ithaca business is looking to speed up operations.

Squeaky Clean Car Wash on South Meadow Street plans to add two automated cashier kiosks. Owner Gary Sloan said the change would streamline transactions.

“One of the things that occurs is that a customer will pull up and, they’re going to pay with cash or credit, and they’ll need some time to make a decision,” he said.

Sign outside the business

Sloan said the kiosks would allow Unlimited Wash Club members to go through faster.

The City of Ithaca’s Planning Board is reviewing the proposal. Board Chair Emily Petrina does not want the kiosks to produce too much noise.

“We already have issues, so let’s make sure there’s no additional sound,” she said.

The business has generated noise complaints since opening in March. Deputy Mayor Ducson Nguyen spoke about the complaints on Ithaca’s Morning News.

Squeaky Clean has other locations in Ithaca and Cortland.
