ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Moderate flooding is still being seen at Cayuga Lake.

The National Weather Service (NWS) says the water level is unchanged from the last couple days, measuring at 384.1 feet – still slightly above the flood stage. “The river is expected to rise to a crest of 384.3 feet early this morning,” according to the NWS.

A flood warning for the Ithaca area will remain active until lake levels fall below the flood stage, which is 383.5 feet.

Forecasters say flooding being reported at Cayuga Lake is the result of heavy rainfall last week.
