ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Ithaca Police Department says they’re working with multiple agencies to investigate a threatening email.

On October 6, the threat was sent to schools, and according to IPD, businesses, and elected officials, “in and around the City of Ithaca.”

Several area school districts entered lockdown procedures. IPD says they’re working with state and federal law enforcement, and more information will be released as it becomes available.

Two similar email threats were sent to local school districts last month, one of which was found to have originated overseas. In both instances, the threats were deemed non-credible.
