MONTOUR FALLS, NY (607NewsNow) – The Humane Society of Schuyler County is asking for help.

WENY-TV reports the shelter in Montour Falls is overcrowded due to a recent influx of dogs, cats, and kittens.

Executive Director Georgie Taylor says they’re beyond capacity and staff are stretched thin. The shelter is reducing adoption fees for a limited time, looking for dog walkers, and accepting monetary and supply donations.

Shelter officials say it’s a good time to give, as a donor has come forward with a $50,000 matching pledge for the month of October.
