Former Big Red soccer coach Jaro Zawislan dies at 55

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Cornell athletic community is mourning the loss of another former coach.

On January 9, Jaro Zawislan passed away.

The 55-year-old led the Cornell Men’s Soccer Team from 2009 to 2015, including a 2012 season where the Big Red went 15-2 and won the Ivy League title. Zawislan, who starred in college at Clemson and had previous coaching stints in Syracuse, Stanford, and Creighton, was most recently the Women’s Soccer coach at LeMoyne.

Bill Courtney, who led the Big Red men’s basketball team from 2010 to 2016, died January 13, also at the age of 55.
