CANANDAIGUA, NY (607NewsNow) – The Finger Lakes Land Trust (FLLT) is raising money.

The Ithaca-based conservation group has negotiated a contract to purchase 300 feet of shoreline on Canandaigua Lake.

The property would be added to the Great Hill Nature Preserve, ensuring the lakeshore would not be developed, and protecting migratory waterfowl and bald eagles.  FLLT needs to raise $60,000 for the acquisition, and an anonymous donor has pledged a dollar-for-dollar matching gift.
