MCGRAW, NY (607NewsNow) – The final week of a popular 4H camp is cancelled after a fire.

On August 16, a blaze broke out in the Arts and Crafts building at Camp Owahta in McGraw.

No kids were at camp, and three staff members were uninjured.

The fire did not spread to any other buildings and was likely caused by an electrical malfunction. The affected building was a total loss.

There is no running water at the site due to the work required to restore electricity, which is the reason the last week of camp, including the 31st Owahta Olympics, was cancelled.

A community fundraising event is planned for Thursday at the Cortland County Fairgrounds.

As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
