DRYDEN, NY (607NewsNow) – A shop in Dryden is getting the highest honor for small businesses in New York.

The Corner Brew was recently presented with the State Senate Empire Award.

Senator Lea Webb says the shop has quickly established itself as a cornerstone of the community in the village since opening in 2023.

“Receiving this award signifies that The Corner Brew’s influence reaches far beyond the boundaries of our small town,” said shop owner Kayla Lane. “It indicates that the positive effects we are experiencing in our immediate community are spreading outward and making a difference beyond our local area. When we first opened our doors, we aimed to create a pivotal change on Main Street and provide a convenient gathering space for friends and family to enjoy delicious food and crafted coffee together. However, the Corner Brew has evolved into something much greater, and it’s truly humbling to witness the ripple effect our space has created. A heartfelt thank you to Senator Lea Webb for this honorable recognition.”

The Corner Brew’s neighbor across the street, Protagonist Books, also recently won an Empire Award.
