Deputies arrested woman in Virgil after fight, property damage

VIRGIL, NY (607NewsNow) — A woman in Virgil is accused of physical violence.

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says Rebecca Mathewson became physical Wednesday, Jan. 14 during an argument with a man in front of kids.

“It was further discovered that in the midst of the altercation, the defendant damaged property belonging to the victim. Ms. Mathewson was arrested and transported to the Cortland County Jail where she was arraigned through Centralized Arraignment Processing,” deputies said.

Mathewson, who’s 28, is charged with felony criminal mischief, two counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of children, and a violation for harassment.
