ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Four-piece band Coyote Island is performing at Liquid State Brewing Company on Saturday, February 21st.

The band is the musical vision of Maine-based producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Mike O’Hehir. A blend of folk roots, reggae rhythms, and psychedelic indie, the band crafts music that aims to create a layered, introspective live performance.

“The sound has evolved a lot as we’ve all played together more and written and been in the studio together. At first, I was playing all of the instruments on the recordings, but after finding the rest of the band, we’ve been able to collaborate and combine different perspectives and genres,” says O’Hehir.

Shadow Magic, Coyote Island’s most recent album that came out in 2025, is their most transcendent yet.

“It’s very spiritual to me, it explores the themes of self-awareness and forgiveness. We never want to be too light or too heavy, we want to be able to explore the darker side of the human experience because that’s where a lot of wisdom lives.”

Their live sound emphasizes the rock feel in their music, often improvising and playing into the more psychedelic parts of the band’s music.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. at Liquid State Brewing on Saturday, February 21st. Find more information on how to RSVP here.
