ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) – A shared kitchen in a Cornell dorm has reopened.

The first-floor kitchen at Ganedago Hall was closed for several days after two student hunters skinned and processed a bear in it on September 6.

Police ultimately determined the animal was legally taken, and no charges were filed.

A Cornell Housing and Residential Life spokesperson tells the Cornell Daily Sun the space was completely sanitized and reopened for resident use three days after the incident.
