City had no backup plan for shelter, Cantelmo says

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — The city of Ithaca is now scrambling to come up with a shelter backup plan. 

Following the Tompkins County Legislature’s vote last week on opening the Code Blue shelter on Cherry St., Mayor Robert Cantelmo tells 607 News Now the city has no choice but to pivot.

Cantelmo adds the city is also beginning to explore alternate options.
