CINCINNATUS, NY (607NewsNow) — What’s the future of wind turbines in the town of Cincinnatus?

“Our Town Board is determined to keep our rural way of life and protect our surroundings. Among other things, we will be discussing and working on a resolution about wind turbines,” Town Supervisor Ron Constantino said. “We are weighing a moratorium, a temporary pause on wind turbine projects, and a local law that would ban them outright.”

“Our open farmland, wooded hills, ridgelines and quiet roads are what make this town home. Large wind projects bring tall turbines, heavy construction traffic on our town roads, noise, and changes to the views many of us know and love. We want clear rules in place so decisions about our land are made here, by the people who live here,” Constantino added.

The Cincinnatus town supervisor also says decisions made would be reviewed by the town’s attorney, and that residents will have a chance to express their thoughts and concerns at a public hearing “before any vote so every resident can be heard.”
