Chenango Forks man charged with rape

GREENE, NY (607NewsNow) — A Broome County man is being charged with rape. 

State Police arrested 44-year-old Jason Marsh on Sunday, May 17 on accusations of sexual assault and choking.

“The investigation determined that while at a residence in the town of Greene, Marsh forcibly sexually assaulted a victim. Marsh then struck and choked the victim when the victim was attempting to leave,” authorities said. 

“The victim ultimately escaped, contacted police and was evaluated at a local hospital. Marsh and the victim are known to each other.”

Marsh, who lives in Chenango Forks, was charged with rape, criminal obstruction of breathing, and unlawful imprisonment.

Marsh remains in jail until his next court date on June 4.
