BINGHAMTON, NY (607NewsNow) — Minor League Baseball will remain in Broome County for the foreseeable future.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies have agreed to a lease extension at Mirabito Stadium. The deal will keep the Ponies in place through 2035.

$6 million in New York State funding helped secure the extension. The funding will also lead to stadium improvements, such as new dugouts and press box renovations.

“These ballpark upgrades will ensure that the Rumble Ponies will continue to play at Mirabito Stadium for years to come and will provide the players, coaches, and staff with a state-of-the-art facility to thrive in,” Governor Kathy Hochul said.

Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham said the upgrades will “help keep the gates open” for the many families and visitors who enjoy cheering on the Ponies.
