AI policies under consideration in Tompkins County

ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Tompkins County leaders are focusing more on artificial intelligence.

County Attorney Maury Josephson said his office has had a “fair number” of discussions with the county’s Information Technology Services Department about AI. He said talks have involved integrating AI tools into his office’s workflow, and what legal and operational safeguards are necessary.

Aside from AI, Josephson said his office has been focusing on parental leave policies and leases for sheltering operations.
