ITHACA, NY (607NewsNow) — Ithaca’s school budget is adopted.

The school board voted last night to approve the $177,638,041 spending plan for the 2026-27 academic year. It now goes to voters, along with a proposed capital project, for approval on May 19.

On 607 This Morning, ICSD Superintendent Dr. Luvelle Brown told WHCU’s Joe Salzone the project being considered is a smaller request than previous years.

“The total proposed authorization is not to exceed $43.9 million. If approved by voters, the project would be completed in phases over several years, beginning in 2027,” according to the ICSD website.
