Wanted Ithaca man found, receives additional charges

ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – An Ithaca man awaits his day in court.

Authorities responded to Cecil A. Malone Drive in the City of Ithaca around 6:30 Thursday night to locate 24-year-old Jesus Hernandez, who has an active felony warrant out of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

Hernandez allegedly fled and resisted arrest, placing one deputy in a chokehold before being taken into custody. Hernandez faces new charges of felony assault and misdemeanors of resisting arrest, criminal obstruction of breathing, and criminal mischief. He’s currently awaiting arraignment on his previous warrant and new charges.
