Two-car accident in Newfield sends two to hospital

NEWFIELD, N.Y. (WHCU) – Authorities are investigating a crash in Tompkins County.

WENY-TV reports that Tompkins County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Route 13 near Smileys Gas Station in Newfield around noon on Monday for a two-car accident. Authorities say the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions and collided when one crossed the center line to make a turn. One driver was airlifted and the other was taken to a hospital by ambulance. The investigation is ongoing.
