TRUMANSBURG, N.Y. (WHCU) — New York State is close to closing a deal on buying Camp Barton from the Boy Scouts.

Trumansburg Mayor Rordan Hart tells WHCU a few steps are still necessary.

Once complete, the New York State Parks Department will own and operate the property, and it will be managed by officials in the village of Trumansburg and towns of Covert and Ulysses.

Hart expects the deal to be finalized in the next several months.
