ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County has revealed a name for a merging department.

The Public Health and Mental Health departments are becoming one. Health Director Frank Kruppa says the name will be Tompkins County Whole Health.

At Tuesday’s Board of Health meeting, Kruppa explained what led to the selection.

He says hundreds of names were considered. A logo for the department has not yet been created.
