ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County legislators plan to look at raising the pay for a position in the county’s health department.

Citing a shortage of mental health workers, the Tompkins County Legislature will vote on increasing the pay for a mental health director from over 120 dollars an hour to more than 143 dollars an hour, which would also include fringe benefits and yearly salary adjustments.

Legislators meet today at 5:30.
