ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tompkins County is looking at potential options to address homelessness.

Among the options is increasing the number of emergency shelter beds for people without a roof over their heads. County officials are considering how adding extra shelter beds would be funded.

Saint John’s Community Services provides shelter for the homeless, and county officials say new shelter space would complement their efforts.

The existing shelter facility has 26 beds.
