OWEGO, N.Y. (WHCU) — Tioga County is tackling homelessness.

The unhoused population there has reportedly increased each year since 2018. Most of the people seeking shelter are single men.

The county currently relies on local hotels; officials are trying to find other options for housing.

In related news, Tioga County wants to hire new employees without a civil service exam.
