ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) — A scientific site in Ithaca is seeing progress.

The Soil Factory is moving ahead with research gardens after getting approval from the town’s Planning Board.

Applicant Neil Schill says environmental experiments will continue.

“Some of our scientists are working on charging biochar with different nutrients to see if we can create a type of fertilizer that would be easily available,” he says.

The Soil Factory is on Ithaca Beer Drive.
